在本周一（8月18日）举行的发展预算协调委员会（DBCC）预算简报会上，FPJ Panday Bayanihan党派的众议员布莱恩·坡对在线博彩在政府收入中的作用提出了质疑，#指出其所占份额相对于国家整体财政需求而言相对较小。

财政部长拉尔夫·雷克托对此回应称，该行业对国库的贡献确实不大。雷克托表示：“在线赌博为国家政府带来的总收入约为600亿比索。”#这一数字仅相当于2024年GDP的0.23%。

随后，坡众议员询问政府是否准备好在未来实施更严格的监管，甚至可能逐步淘汰在线博彩业的情况下，开发其他收入来源。雷克托部长对此回应道：“我们非常乐意与您就此合作。国家政府的任何额外收入来源都将非常受欢迎。”

坡众议员继而指出了一些潜在的政府收入来源。他表示：“#我们正在研究对塑料征收消费税的可能性，目前塑料在全国范围内尚无此税；以及对采矿业征税，菲律宾目前仅征收2%的消费税，远低于全球标准。”

财政部（DOF）指出，已通过改革来合理化采矿税收，并表示愿意与国会探讨更多措施。

此前，菲律宾国会议员们曾对在线赌博更广泛的社会成本提出过质疑。坡众议员强调，未来的财政政策应优先发展可持续和高产的产业，同时确保政府的稳定收入。
